starContact a Family

Produces a list of organisations, that give grants to families with a child who has a disability. Many of these specify that applications should be made by a professional on behalf of the family. The directory can be viewed on their website. Tel: 0808 808 3555.

starThe Family Fund

For low‐income families who have children with severe disabilities up to the age of 17. The fund can help to pay for things such as a washing machine, play equipment or a family holiday. Tel: 08449 744 099.

starThe Roald Dahl Foundation

Gives grants of up to £500 to families caring for a child, upto the age of 18 years, with a neurological condition. In exceptional circumstances young people up to the age of 25 years may also be helped. Applications must be made by a Social Worker or health professional. Families must be on a low income. Disabled Facilities Grants are available in the UK to assist people with disabilities to access funding for recommended adaptations.
